The Department of Chemistry organized an Alumni Interaction Session as part of the Fresher’s Orientation Programme 2026 on 27th July 2026. The session was conducted with the aim of providing valuable guidance, motivation, and insights to the first-year B.Sc. Chemistry students by connecting them with a successful alumna.
The resource person for the session was Ms. Pooviarasi. M, an alumna of the Department of Chemistry, Batch (2019–2022), currently serving as a Sanitary Inspector in the Municipal Administration & Water Supply Department, Avadi Municipal Corporation. She shared her academic journey, career experiences, and the opportunities available for chemistry graduates in various fields.
During the interactive session, Ms. Pooviarasi encouraged students to develop a positive attitude towards learning, improve their skills, and make effective use of the opportunities provided during their college journey. She highlighted the importance of discipline, communication skills, continuous learning, and dedication in achieving career goals.
The session also included a question-and-answer interaction, where students actively participated and clarified their doubts regarding higher education, career pathways, competitive examinations, and professional development. The interaction provided the freshers with confidence and motivation to plan their academic and career growth.
The programme concluded with a note of gratitude to the resource person for sharing her valuable experiences and inspiring the young minds. The Alumni Interaction Session served as a meaningful platform for knowledge sharing and strengthened the bond between the department and its alumni.
