Aurum club

Aurum club was inaugurated in the year 2016 when the department was started. The purpose of the club is to organize programs to develop awareness and concern for scientific principles in personal, social, environmental and technological contexts. The club encourages students to enthusiastically participate in the activities organized by the club.

CHEMFINITY 2026 – Exploring the World of Research, Innovation and Opportunity

The Department of Chemistry, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women (CTTE), Perambur, through the CTTE Aurum Club, proudly organized CHEMFINITY 2026, an intercollegiate Chemfest, on 29th August 2026 at the T. Thomas Auditorium.

The event brought together enthusiastic young minds from various colleges with the aim of fostering a passion for chemistry, scientific thinking, research, innovation, and academic excellence.

A Special Lecture on Research and Opportunities

A major highlight of CHEMFINITY 2026 was the special lecture delivered by the distinguished Chief Guest, Dr. Ashok K. Sundramoorthy, Professor of Materials Science at Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), Chennai.

Dr. Ashok K. Sundramoorthy delivered an insightful lecture on the topic:

“PhD in Science: Your Gateway to the World of Research, Innovation, and Opportunity”

The session provided students with valuable insights into the world of higher education and scientific research. He highlighted the importance of pursuing research with curiosity, dedication, and a willingness to explore new ideas. The lecture also helped students understand how a PhD can open doors to diverse opportunities in academia, research, innovation, industry, and interdisciplinary science.
