Aurum club

Aurum club was inaugurated in the year 2016 when the department was started. The purpose of the club is to organize programs to develop awareness and concern for scientific principles in personal, social, environmental and technological contexts. The club encourages students to enthusiastically participate in the activities organized by the club.

AWARENESS AND SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME ON GENDER EQUITY AND SOCIAL INCLUSION - ( 08/10/2026)

The Department of Chemistry at Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women organised an Awareness and Sensitization Programme on “Gender Equity and Social Inclusion” on October 8, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. in S5. The programme aimed to create awareness about gender equality, social inclusion, and the importance of building a fair and inclusive society.

The programme was graced by Mrs. S. Agalya, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, CTTE College for Women, as the resource person. She shared valuable insights on the importance of gender equity, equal opportunities, mutual respect, and the need to eliminate discrimination in society. The session highlighted the significance of respecting individual differences, promoting equal rights, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and included.The programme provided students with an opportunity to understand the importance of gender sensitivity and social responsibility in their daily lives. It encouraged them to challenge stereotypes, respect diversity, and contribute towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

The session was informative and meaningful, helping students recognise their role in promoting equality, dignity, and social harmony. The programme concluded with a message to uphold the values of fairness, respect, and inclusiveness in all aspects of life.
