IN- HOUSE LECTURE ON TRANSISTORS: PRINCIPLES AND APPLICATIONS (12/10/2026)

The Department of Chemistry, in association with the CTTE Aurum Club, organised an In-House Lecture on “Transistors: Principles and Applications” on 12th October 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at S5. The programme aimed to enhance students' understanding of transistors, their basic principles, working mechanisms, and applications in modern electronic devices.
The session was delivered by Dr. S. Geetha, Assistant Professor of Physics, C.T.T.E. College for Women, Chennai, who shared her valuable knowledge and insights on the topic. She explained the fundamental principles of transistors, their types, and their role in controlling and amplifying electrical signals. The lecture also highlighted the importance of transistors in electronic circuits and their applications in computers, communication systems, and various electronic devices.

The session provided students with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the scientific principles behind transistor technology and its significance in everyday life. The lecture encouraged scientific curiosity and helped students connect theoretical concepts with practical applications.
The programme was informative and enriching, contributing to the students' academic knowledge and scientific awareness. The Department of Chemistry expressed its sincere gratitude to the resource person for sharing her expertise and making the session meaningful.
The event concluded on a positive note, inspiring students to explore the applications of science and technology in the modern world.
