National Science Day 2024

Centre for Student Development & Department of Chemistry in association  with Milir on the account  of National Science Day 2024 organised a Competition using PowerPoint Presentation  on "Indigenous Techniques for Viksit Bharat" on 18/03/2024. The Students of Chemistry department actively presented their Presentation and also gained knowledge about the theme of  National Science Day 2024.

Professional Development Program - 12/03/2024

The Department of Chemistry in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on account of National Safety Week organized a Professional Development Program "SHE walks in the Chemistry Lab" on 12/03/2024.  The Resource Person of this session was Mrs. R. Yuvarani, Lab Assistant, Department of Chemistry, C.T.T.E. College for Women. The students of Chemistry and the supporting staff were educated about the toxicity of the chemicals, gained knowledge about the dress code used in the lab, Safety measures followed, how to handle toxic chemicals, and also the disposal of the hazardous waste generated from the laboratory. At the end of the session, a quiz was conducted to evaluate the understanding of the student.

New Beginning- 08/03/2024

The Department of Chemistry was shifted to a new building on 08/03/2024. The faculty member of the department inaugurated the new department building were the students can develop the ideas into reality and also gain knowledge about the subject.

 

Business Promotion and Stock Market- 07/03/2024

Centre for Student Development CFSD and the Department of Chemistry in association with Milir organized a lecture on "Business Promotion and Stock Market" on 7th March 2024. The Students of the Chemistry Department actively participated in the lecture and gained knowledge on the Stock Market and how to invest efficiently in it. They also learned the pros of buying shares in the stock market. The Resource Person of this session was

Personality Development- 27/02/2024

Centre for Student Development CFSD and the Department of Chemistry in association with Milir organized a lecture on "Personality Development" on 27th February 2024. The Students of the Chemistry Department actively participated in the lecture and gained knowledge on how to improve their personalities to promote their business ideas. They also learned the trick to effectively manage their time to the maximum productivity. The Resource Person of this session is Dr. Sudha Srikanth, Placement Officer, C.T.T.E. College for Women.  

Role of Innovation in Business Development- 26/02/2024

Centre for Student Development CFSD and Department of Chemistry in association with Milir organized a lecture on "Role of Innovation in Business Development" on 26th February 2024. The Students of Chemistry Department actively participated in the lecture and gained knowledge on the importance of innovation in business to become a successful entrepreneur in this highly competitive world. The Resource Person of this session is Mrs. P. Amalthi,  IIC Innovation Ambassador, Proprietor of Milir, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, C.T.T.E. College for Women.  

 

EVS FIELD TRIP- 24/02/2024

The Department of Chemistry organised an Environmental Field Trip to a Groundnut field in Paramankeni, Mudhaliryar Kuppam for the students of the chemistry department on 24/02/2024 and learned about the type of land used to plant groundnut, the harvest period for both the hybrid and organic varieties of groundnut, type of Irrigation used in the field and also the pesticide and fertilizer used for the plant.

Critical Thinking and Innovation design - 23/2/2024

Department of Chemistry, Centre of Student development in association with Milir organised a lecture on Critical thinking and Innovation design on 23/02/2024. The students were able to learn about various strategies to become a successful entrepreneur in the future. The Resource Person of the session was Mrs. R. Lavanya, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Chevalier T.Thomas Elizabeth College for Women. 

 

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE- CNGI 2024

The Department of Chemistry, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women organized a two-day International Conference on “Catalysing Nanoscience for Greener Innovation- CNGI 2024” on 7^th and 8^th February 2024. This event was conducted in collaboration with the Concil of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) Government of Tamil Nadu, Tirunelveli Dakshina Mara Nadar Sangam College, Affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, Department of Research and Analytics, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai. Many young scientists and research scholars proposed their projects and ideas in the conference for a better world in the future.  

Alumni Meet 2024

Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women organized an Alumni Meet for the past students on 26th January 2024. The past students of the Chemistry Department took part in it and relived their nostalgic college days.

தமிழர் திருநாள் கொண்டாட்டம் - 12/01/2024

பொங்கல், உழைக்கும் மக்கள் இயற்கைத் தெய்வமாகக் கருதப்படும் சூரியனுக்கும், மற்ற உயிர்களுக்கும் சொல்லும் ஒரு நன்றியறிதலாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்த ஆண்டு நம் கல்லூரியில் 12/01/2024 அன்று பொங்கல் நிகழ்ச்சி நடைபெற்றது. அந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் அனைத்து துறை மாணவியரும் பங்கேற்ற மகிழ்ச்சியாக கொண்டாடினர். பல்வேறு போட்டிகளான கயிறு இழுத்தல், நாட்டுப்புற நடனங்கள் மற்றும் உரியடிதல்  நடைபெற்றது. இதில்  வேதியியல் துறை மாணவிகளும் கலந்துகொண்டு பொங்கலிட்டு தமிழர் திருநாளை சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடினர்.

Capacity Building Program

Department of Chemistry organized a Capacity Building Program for the students of III BSc Chemistry from 18/12/2023 to 28/12/2023. The students visited the Chennai Diagnostic Centre at Peravallur and learned about the Principles, Working, and Construction of various instruments in the laboratory.

INTERNATIONAL E-CONFERENCE

 The Students of the Chemistry Department have presented Research Papers at the National Level Conference on Advanced Research Trends in Chemistry (ARTC-23) which was conducted by Tirunelveli Dakshina Mara Nadar Sangam College on 29th September 2023.

LECTURE- 13/10/2023

On the occasion of Institution Innovation Day, The Department of Chemistry in association with the Center of Student Development organized a lecture on " Developmental Ideas Propounded by Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam on 13/10/2023, Friday to give students a brief about the views of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. The Resource Person of the session was Mrs. P. Amalthi, Assistant Professor, IIC Innovation Ambassador, Department of Chemistry, CTTE College for Women.

ELOCUTION COMPETITION- 13/10/2023

On account of Youth Awakening Day, The Department of Chemistry Conducted an Interdepartmental Elocution Competition on the topic "Youth and Scientific Innovation" on 13/10/2023. The Event was Judged by Mrs. J. Saranya, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications.
