The Department of Chemistry at Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women organized an industrial visit for its students to the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) on August 22, 2025. The visit was arranged to provide Chemistry students with practical exposure to the latest technologies, industrial processes, and research facilities related to polymers and petrochemicals.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by officials at CIPET, who provided a detailed orientation about the institution, its pioneering role in research and development, and its contributions to the plastics and manufacturing industries.
The students were then taken on a guided tour of the laboratories, processing units, and testing facilities, where they observed real-time industrial practices and interacted with professionals. This experience enabled them to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application while also clarifying their academic and career-related queries.
