பொங்கல், உழைக்கும் மக்கள் இயற்கைத் தெய்வமாகக் கருதப்படும் சூரியனுக்கும், மற்ற உயிர்களுக்கும் சொல்லும் ஒரு நன்றியறிதலாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்த ஆண்டு நம் கல்லூரியில் 12/01/2024 அன்று பொங்கல் நிகழ்ச்சி நடைபெற்றது. அந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் அனைத்து துறை மாணவியரும் பங்கேற்ற மகிழ்ச்சியாக கொண்டாடினர். பல்வேறு போட்டிகளான கயிறு இழுத்தல், நாட்டுப்புற நடனங்கள் மற்றும் உரியடிதல் நடைபெற்றது. இதில் வேதியியல் துறை மாணவிகளும் கலந்துகொண்டு பொங்கலிட்டு தமிழர் திருநாளை சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடினர்.
Department of Chemistry organized a Capacity Building Program for the students of III BSc Chemistry from 18/12/2023 to 28/12/2023. The students visited the Chennai Diagnostic Centre at Peravallur and learned about the Principles, Working, and Construction of various instruments in the laboratory.
The Students of the Chemistry Department have presented Research Papers at the National Level Conference on Advanced Research Trends in Chemistry (ARTC-23) which was conducted by Tirunelveli Dakshina Mara Nadar Sangam College on 29th September 2023.
The Department of Chemistry celebrated Ayudha Pooja on 25/10/2023 and showed respect towards all the chemical apparatus.
On the occasion of Institution Innovation Day, The Department of Chemistry in association with the Center of Student Development organized a lecture on " Developmental Ideas Propounded by Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam on 13/10/2023, Friday to give students a brief about the views of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. The Resource Person of the session was Mrs. P. Amalthi, Assistant Professor, IIC Innovation Ambassador, Department of Chemistry, CTTE College for Women.
On account of Youth Awakening Day, The Department of Chemistry Conducted an Interdepartmental Elocution Competition on the topic "Youth and Scientific Innovation" on 13/10/2023. The Event was Judged by Mrs. J. Saranya, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications.

As a sign, of Celebrating India's successful soft landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the Moon's South Pole for the very first time in history. Rithika K of III BSc Chemistry Painted a picture of Vikram Lander on the surface of the Moon.
Students of the Chemistry Department participated in the Pookolam Competition on 31/08/2023 which was conducted on the occasion of Onam - Harvest Festival and won first and third place.
Students of the Chemistry department took part in the Culturals Kalakiran-2023 off-stage events which were conducted on 11/08/2023 Friday. Students participated in Junk art, Vegetable carving, Face Painting, and Newspaper dressing competitions and showcased their creativity.
Second and third-year students of the chemistry department were taken for a one-day trip to MGM Dizzee World on 5th August 2023, Saturday. This fun-filled adventurous trip paved the way to come out of their routine life.
Fresher's Talent meet was organized by The Department of Basic Sciences (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) on 28th July 2023, Friday from 10.30 AM - 12.00 PM. Ist year students of the department of chemistry took part and showcased their talents.
Chandrayaan-3 ISRO's third lunar exploration mission was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh on 14/07/2023 at 2.35 pm. The launch of Chandrayaan-3 was live telecasted by the college. The students of the Chemistry Department enthusiastically witnessed the launch.
The Fire and Rescue Service Department of Perambur visited our college and a mock drill was conducted on how to handle the safety equipment such as life jackets, and oxygen cylinder during any natural calamity. The mechanism behind the fire extinguisher was also explained. All the students from the chemistry department took part in the program and gained knowledge.
The Valedictory Ceremony for the academic year 2022- 2023 and celebration of one year excellence of "Milir" was conducted on April 21, 2023. Annual Report for the academic year 2022-2023 was presented and Report of Milir was also presented. Student achievements were discussed and prize winners of various competitions conducted by Aurum club were announced.
