The Valedictory Ceremony for the academic year 2022- 2023 and celebration of one year excellence of "Milir" was conducted on April 21, 2023. Annual Report for the academic year 2022-2023 was presented and Report of Milir was also presented. Student achievements were discussed and prize winners of various competitions conducted by Aurum club were announced.
Department of Chemistry organised an intercollegiate Fest "VEDHI'ESTA -2023" on 21st April 2023, Students from various Colleges took part in all competitions. The event was sponsored by "ESOPE "
Department of Chemistry in association with Department of Physics organised a Faculty Development Programme on
" Nanomaterial Synthesis" on 5th April 2023, faculty of Department of Physics and Chemistry took part in the Programme and also various career opportunities available for the students after the Bachelor's degree were also provided by the Resources Persons.
The Aurum Club of Chemistry Department organized a Guest lecture on 'A Fundamental Approach to Group Theory' on March 07, 2023. The main objective of this Guest lecture was to educate the students on the basics of Group Theory. Students from TDMNS College also joined through Gmeet.The Resource person Mrs.K.Kavitha , Assistant professor, Department of Chemistry,DG Vaishnav College explained all the basic terms and demonstrate molecular examples with ball and stick models.
The Department of Chemistry in association with the Centre for Students Development organized "A Talk on innovation in Science " on 28/02/2023. The students were brought to point out problems and encouraged to come up with solutions with Innovation in Science.

On 14 th February a workshop "Fun with Science" was organized by the Department of Chemistry. The resource person of the event was Dr.C.Shanmugam.During the workshop, the Resource person demonstrated many fun experiments related to Chemistry and Physics and explained the science behind them.
Students of Chemistry Department visited Schneider Electric India Private Limited located at Poonamallee on February 07, 2023 , this provides the students an opportunity to learn practically and an exposure to the manufacturing unit.
The 47th Indian tourist and Industrial Fair was arranged at the Island Grounds, Chennai. This exhibition features various stalls, government departments. Students of the Department of Chemistry exhibited their project of "Hydrogen - a green fuel " and " Precision Fermentation " on 28/01/2023.
On 29/01/2023 students of the Department of chemistry with ED-Cell had the "Milir" stall and the Milir products were on sale.

The Department of Chemistry in association with the Centre for Students Development organized a workshop "Entrepreneurial opportunities in Chemistry" on 12/01/2023 on the occasion of National Youth Day. Students were notified with various ideas involved with fundamental Chemistry which could be further formulated into an entrepreneurial movement. The resource person gave a brief description of the possibilities available and some product-making was illustrated by the students.
On the occasion of the 50th death anniversary of former Chief Minister Mutharinjar Rajaji, a photo exhibition at the Anna Centenary Library Complex in Chennai was organised by Government of Tamilnadu. Students of Department of Chemistry visited on 26/12/2022.Students were taken on a journey through history exploring his interaction with other leaders and some historical events. Students also visited the library.
