Aurum club

Aurum club was inaugurated in the year 2016 when the department was started. The purpose of the club is to organize programs to develop awareness and concern for scientific principles in personal, social, environmental and technological contexts. The club encourages students to enthusiastically participate in the activities organized by the club.

Chemfinity 2025 - Intercollegiate Chemfest

 CHEMFINITY 2025 – Where Chemistry Met Creativity

CHEMFINITY 2025, the intercollegiate chemfest organized by the CTTE Aurum Club of the Department of Chemistry, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, was conducted with great enthusiasm and academic spirit. Students from various colleges actively participated, turning the campus into a vibrant hub of scientific curiosity, healthy competition, and youthful energy.

The event was inaugurated with a special lecture by Dr. P. Tamizhdurai, Assistant Professor, PG and Research Department of Chemistry, D.G. Vaishnav College, on “Hydrogen 2.0: Advanced Production Technologies and the Future of Clean Applications.” His insightful talk inspired students to think about sustainable solutions and future-ready science.

A wide range of events was conducted that tested participants’ knowledge, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. 

The fest concluded on a high note with D.G. Vaishnav College emerging as the Overall Trophy Winners, recognizing their consistent excellence across events. Winners and participants alike left with a sense of pride, fulfillment, and motivation.

CHEMFINITY 2025 stood as a grand success, blending learning with fun, competition with collaboration, and challenges with joy—truly celebrating the spirit of chemistry and student unity.







Chemistry - Christmas 2025

 🎊Blessings and Bells🎊 – 🎄Christmas 2025🎄

The Aurum Club of the Department of Chemistry, CTTE College for Women, organised a joyful Christmas outreach programme titled “Blessings and Bells – Christmas 2025” at Don Bosco Beatitudes, Vyasarpadi, on 12 December 2025.

The celebration was filled with warmth and happiness as students shared special moments with the senior citizens through dance, singing, and Christmas carols. Their smiles, blessings, and kind words created a truly festive atmosphere. Simple interactions, shared laughter, and thoughtful life advice from the senior citizens made the visit meaningful.

Snacks were shared, joy was multiplied, and hearts were touched. The programme beautifully reflected the spirit of Christmas—spreading love, respect, and cheer.
